Voluntary Changes to Tickets Purchased for Travel on Hawaiian Airlines

Standard Rules and Restrictions for Tickets Purchased for Travel on Hawaiian Airlines
  • Tickets are non-transferable.
  • Tickets are non-refundable, unless otherwise specified.
  • Tickets may be cancelled within 24 hours of purchase for a full refund with no fees, for any bookings made at least seven days in advance of the flight’s scheduled departure time.
  • Wholly unused tickets: Tickets are valid for transportation for one year from date of purchase.
  • Partially used tickets: Remaining trip segment tickets are valid for transportation for one year from date of initial use.
  • Flight coupons will be honored only in the order in which they are issued.
  • When making date/flight, reroute, or other changes to a Main Cabin, First Class and Business Class ticket, any applicable difference in fare (greater than $0) will be charged. Refund or credit will not be provided for any ticket changes that result in a fare less than the original fare paid. The value of the new ticket must be equal or higher than the value of the original ticket.
  • If you purchase a separate ticket on another carrier, or on Hawaiian Airlines that departs sooner than our Minimum Connection Times allow, your checked baggage will not be checked to the final destination.
  • Fares and rules are subject to change at any time without notice.
  • Standby travel is not permitted.
  • Other restrictions may apply.

Special Conditions: Held Reservations for Travel on Hawaiian Airlines

  • The option to hold a reservation is available for one-way, roundtrip or multi-city main cabin flight reservations booked through HawaiianAirlines.com and only for flights operated by Hawaiian Airlines.
  • This option is not available for itineraries that include a codeshare flight, are booked with miles, or when a promo code is applied.
  • The option to Fare Hold will not be available for First Class or Business Class fares.
  • The Fare Hold fee will be charged per person on the reservation at the time of selecting this option.
  • Fare Hold fees are nonrefundable and are not applied toward the price of the ticket.
  • Fees are charged immediately after purchasing the Fare Hold.
  • Reservations that are held must be ticketed by the indicated date and time to guarantee the fare quoted.
  • Fare Hold reservations will automatically cancel if not purchased by the expiration date and time.
  • Upon purchasing a Fare Hold, the reservation may not be changed. To make a change, the guest must cancel the held reservation and rebook the desired flight. This may result in a fare increase.
  • Once a Fare Hold reservation is ticketed, the confirmed airfare will be subject to the standard Hawaiian Airlines fare rules.
  • A single guest may not hold multiple reservations for duplicate or multiple Hawaiian Airlines flights. Multiple held reservations with the same guest’s name and flight itinerary are not allowed and Hawaiian Airlines reserves the right to cancel the guest’s held reservations.
  • Pualani Platinum, Pualani Gold, and Corporate Program members can enjoy one (1) complimentary Fare Hold per Member at any given time. Pualani Elite and Corporate Program members must be logged into their account prior to making a reservation for the Fare Hold fee waiver to apply. If more than one reservation is held at any given time with the same passenger name, Hawaiian Airlines reserves the right to cancel the member’s held reservations.
  • Hawaiian Airlines has the right to cancel any reservation that violates these Fare Hold Term and Conditions or any other Hawaiian Airlines policies.

Conditions for Interisland Web-Restricted Sale Fares

  • Interisland Web special fares are valid only for travel between Honolulu and Lihue, Kauai / Kahului, Maui / Kona, Hawaii / Hilo, Hawaii. When making any changes, any applicable difference in fare (greater than 0$) will be charged.
  • When making date/flight, reroute, or other changes to a ticket, any applicable difference in fare (greater than $0) will be charged to the customer. Refund or credit will not be provided for any ticket changes that result in a fare less than the original fare paid.

Conditions for Travel Wholly Within The State Of Hawaii

  • Interisland date/flight or reroute changes are subject to any applicable difference in fare (per ticket). Refund or credit will not be provided if a flight change is made and the applicable new fare is less than the original fare paid.

Conditions for All Other Travel (Not Wholly Within the State of Hawaii )

Flights from Japan to US
  • Date/Flight or reroute changes on tickets originating in Japan are permitted. But any applicable fare difference will be collected.
  • Refund or credit will not be provided for any ticket changes that result in a fare less than the original fare paid.
  • Cancellations of travel before departure are subject to JPY 30000 (adult fare) and JPY 22500 (child fare).
  • Non-refundable after departure or if a part of the ticket is used, no refunds are permitted.
Flights from North America to Japan
  • Date/Flight or reroute changes on tickets originating in North America to Japan are permitted. But any applicable fare difference will be collected.
  • Refund or credit will not be provided for any flight changes that result in a fare less than the original fare paid
  • Cancellations of travel before departure are subject to USD 200.00 (Adult/child fares).
  • Non-refundable after departure or if a part of the ticket is used, no refunds are permitted.
Flights from Hawaii to Japan
  • Date/Flight or reroute changes on tickets originating in Hawaii to Japan are permitted. But any applicable fare difference will be collected.
  • Refund or credit will not be provided for any flight changes that result in a fare less than the original fare paid
  • Cancellations of travel before departure are subject to USD 250.00 (Adult/child fares).
  • Non-refundable after departure or if a part of the ticket is used, no refunds are permitted.

Conditions for tickets purchased using HawaiianMiles

  • Seats purchased with HawaiianMiles are referred to as Award Seats and are limited in availability.
  • Date/flight or reroute changes are allowed if there is an award seat available in the same booking class
  • You will be required to pay applicable taxes and fees
  • When an award ticket is combined with a non-award fare(revenue), the most restrictive fare rule will apply.

Conditions for Main Cabin Basic Fares

  • Main Cabin Basic tickets are non-changeable and non-refundable. Tickets may be cancelled 7 or more days prior to departure without penalty if requested within 24 hours of purchase.
  • Seat selection is not available at time of booking. In some cases, your seat may be assigned at the gate.
  • Main Cabin Basic tickets are not eligible for upgrade to Business/First Class.
  • Same day standby is not permitted.
  • Main Cabin Basic ticket holders will board in the last boarding group, unless otherwise eligible to board earlier.
  • Main Cabin Basic ticket holders are not eligible for bonus miles.

Conditions for Main Cabin Refundable Fares

      
  • Main Cabin Refundable fares are fully refundable including ancillary purchases before departure by canceling through Reservations and requesting a refund.
  • Main Cabin Refundable fares are non-refundable if you do not cancel your reservation before the originating flight departs.

Additional Terms and Conditions for Main Cabin Preferred ("Preferred") Seat Selections

  • Preferred seats are non-refundable, unless they are associated with a Main Cabin Refundable fare.
  • Preferred seats are available only on select flights operated by Hawaiian Airlines.
  • Preferred seats are sold on a per flight segment basis, are limited in amount, and are subject to availability.
  • Preferred seats are non-transferable and non-refundable.
  • Guests making date, flight or reroute changes may apply the value of the Preferred seat fee to the purchase of a Preferred seat or an Extra Comfort seat, if it is available, on the alternative flight. You are responsible for paying any amount in excess of the Preferred seat fee you originally paid, and no refunds or credits will be provided for any unused value. If no Preferred seat or Extra Comfort seat is available on the alternative flight, or if you decide not to select a Preferred seat or Extra Comfort seat and pay any applicable fees, you will forfeit the value of Preferred seat selection fees already paid. Preferred seat fees may not be applied to any base ticket fares nor may they be applied to the purchase of a First Class upgrade or to the Bid Up program.
  • Hawaiian Airlines reserves the right to reassign any Preferred seat holder to another Preferred seat in its sole discretion without notice and without providing a refund. If you are reassigned from a Preferred seat to a seat that is not a Preferred seat or an Extra Comfort seat, you are eligible for a refund of the Preferred seat selection fee already paid. Refunds will be made to the original form of payment.
  • If you purchased a Preferred seat and choose to upgrade to an Extra Comfort Seat during check-in, your Preferred seat fee cannot be applied to the Extra Comfort fee. You may request a refund of your Preferred seat fee from our Consumer Affairs Office after you have completed travel.
  • Hawaiian Airlines reserves the right to cancel any unpaid Preferred seat selections.
  • Guests seated in an exit row must meet FAA requirements, which include, but are not limited to those: (i) age 15 years or older; (ii) willing and able to assist other passengers during an evacuation; that are not responsible for children under the age of 15 traveling with them; and that speak English and are able to comprehend instructions regarding, and able to operate, the emergency exit.

Additional Terms and Conditions for Extra Comfort Seat Selections

  • Extra Comfort seating is available only on flights operated by Hawaiian Airlines.
  • Extra Comfort seats and amenities may differ based on aircraft type or flight destination. Extra Comfort Seats are sold on a per passenger basis per flight and are limited and subject to availability.
  • Prices, offers, rules, and benefits are subject to change without notice.
  • Extra Comfort Seats are non-transferable and non-refundable
  • Guests making date, flight or reroute changes may apply the value of the Extra Comfort seat fee to the purchase of an Extra Comfort seat or a Preferred seat, if it is available, on the alternative flight. You are responsible for paying any amount in excess of the Extra Comfort seat fee you originally paid, and no refunds or credits will be provided for any unused value. If no Extra Comfort seat or Preferred seat is available on the alternative flight, or if you decide not to select an Extra Comfort seat or a Preferred seat and pay any applicable fees, you will forfeit the value of Extra Comfort seat fees already paid. Extra Comfort fees may not be applied to any base ticket fares nor may they be applied to the purchase of a First Class upgrade or to the Bid Up program.
  • Hawaiian Airlines reserves the right to reassign any Extra Comfort seat holder to another Extra Comfort seat in its sole discretion without notice and without providing a refund. If you are reassigned from a Extra Comfort seat to a seat that is not an Extra Comfort seat, you are eligible for a refund of the Extra Comfort seat fee already paid. Refunds will be made to the original form of payment.
  • Customers who have purchased an Extra Comfort Seat that are impacted by a Hawaiian Airlines initiated flight and seat change, equipment change, routing change, or flight cancellation are eligible for a refund if Hawaiian Airlines is unable to accommodate the customer in another Extra Comfort Seat.
  • Authorized refunds of Extra Comfort Seats will be made to the original form of payment.
  • Hawaiian Airlines reserves the right to cancel any Extra Comfort seat that has not been paid for.
  • Guests seated in the bulkhead row may be reassigned to accommodate passengers with disabilities.
  • Guests traveling with a child under the age of two (2) years old, a pet in cabin, or travelers who require a seatbelt extension, are prohibited from sitting in bulkhead seats and seats equipped with airbag seatbelts.
  • Guests seated in an exit row must meet FAA requirements, which include, but are not limited to those: (i) age 15 years or older; (ii) willing and able to assist other passengers during an evacuation; that are not responsible for children under the age of 15 traveling with them; and that speak English and are able to comprehend instructions regarding, and able to operate, the emergency exit.
