Golfers who take the trek out to Oahu’s West side will be pleased to find Makaha Valley Country Club encapsulated in the expansive valley after which it is named.
The course was designed by William F. Bell, who also engineered the Torrey Pines South Course that hosted the 2008 U.S. Open. Accented by sprawling vistas and views of the countryside that spans from Mauka (mountain) to Makai (ocean), Makaha Valley weaves along rolling terrain framed by dense trees, ferns and tropical plants.
The elevated par-3 17th hole sits at the golf course’s highest point and, in addition to including a water hazard on the right and multiple bunkers flanking the green, the layout offers unobstructed panoramas of the surrounding valley and Pacific Ocean in the distance.
