The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua, has hosted Celebration of the Arts, which is hailed as one of Hawaii’s premier annual cultural events, for more than 20 years.
On the schedule are films, panel discussions, hands-on art activities and presentations of songs, chants and dances revolving around themes such as Ko Makou Alanui Kupuna (Our Ancestral Paths) and Ka Aina, Ke Kai, Ke Kanaka…Na Kakoo Nohona (The Land, The Ocean and Man...Partners for Life).
Clifford Naeole, the hotel’s cultural advisor, has coordinated the festival from its inception. He sums it up simply: “An uplifting and enriching opportunity to touch the Hawaiian’s heart and soul.”
