Hamura Saimin Stand

This renowned saimin stand has been the noodle dish since 1952.

Even after almost 70 years, this famous noodle shop is as popular as ever.

Visitors and residents alike stand in line and wait for a seat at the U-shaped counter, which hasn’t changed in decades, for a bowl of the special saimin (topped with luncheon meat, roast pork and veggies) or the wonton mein.

The noodles are fresh, the meal is cheap, and you get a flavor of old Kauai. Tip: Get a side of shrimp tempura or barbecue sticks, and don’t leave without a slice of lilikoi chiffon pie.
