Returning to New Zealand

Air travelers do not need to show proof of vaccination to enter New Zealand, nor do they need to take any pre-departure COVID-19 tests or self-isolate after arrival. Visitors will still receive two rapid antigen tests (RATs) after arriving in the country and are encouraged to report their test results. Only COVID-19 positive individuals are required to isolate for seven days.

All foreign travelers from visa waiver countries will need to obtain an NZeTA. Air travelers will no longer need to complete the New Zealand Traveller Declaration. For more details, please review the Unite Against COVID-19 website.

Face masks are not required by the New Zealand government, except in healthcare and aged care facilities. To keep up with the latest information and requirements at Auckland Airport, click here.
