Event Details

The Ironman mantra is Anything is Possible, and every year participants demonstrate how this is true by completing a 140.6-mile journey, which includes swimming, cycling and running.

These extraordinary athletes are fierce competitors — challenging themselves to be the best they can be.

Yet, amazingly, they are ordinary people — doctors, attorneys, and firemen … they might even be your neighbor — meeting extraordinary challenges through rigorous training.

Ironman is the ultimate endurance event.

It’s not about fame and fortune — it’s all about having the fortitude to cross the finish line.

The average Ironman triathlete spends 18 to 30-plus hours each week training for this triathlon event — a combination of swimming, biking and running.

Many competitors also cross-train with weight training, stretching and yoga.

The swim segment begins and ends at Kailua Pier.
