Immerse yourself in Hawaiian culture, 1800s-style, with traditional lei making and fishing demonstrations, canoe rides (Saturday only) and plenty of Hawaiian foods to taste and hukilau (Sunday only), at Pu‘uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park.

The Hawaiian Cultural Festival and 58th anniversary as a unit of the National Park Service, takes visitors back 200 years for a unique island experience to honor the culture and traditions of the Hawaiian people and share the heritage through food, crafts, demonstrations and instruments.

This year’s festival theme is I ka wa mua, ka wa ma hope, The future is in the past.

Visitors are invited to take home craft items they make at the festival.
