Event Details

The Hawaii Paddleboard Championship kicks off the Summer Paddleboard season with the first pre-Molokai test for those in training for July’s Molokai to Oahu World Championship.

The Hawaii Paddleboard Championship is held on Oahu’s best downwind course — the 10-mile Hawaii Kai run from Maunalua Bay to Kaimana Beach — in honoring Duke Kahanamoku’s legacy.

Sponsored by Maui Jim, the event offers a challenging course around Diamond Head to a grueling flat-water finish through the Waikiki surf.

With 27 age divisions, a special Duke Kahanamoku Junior Men’s Paddleboard Champion award will go to the top under-19 competitor.

A seaside blessing at the Hawaii Kai shoreline before the race, and an awards ceremony at Kapiolani Park at the end of the race, will bookend the only in Hawaii island-style event.
