Event Details

Three signature events spotlight cultural ceremonies, a block party, and a parade, along with Hawaiian music, food, crafts and culture.

The month-long Aloha Festivals kicks off on Aug. 31 with an opening ceremony featuring the newly-chosen royal court, at The Royal Hawaiian’s Coconut Grove.

Hawaii’s largest block party will be lighting up Kalakaua Avenue on Sept. 21, from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The 67th Annual Waikiki Ho‘olaulea features four stages, entertainment and a vibrant display of food and culture. This year’s festival theme Na Mo‘olelo ‘Ukulele: ‘Ukulele Stories, will celebrate the ‘ukulele as a symbol of the multicultural heritage of Hawaii.

Then, on Sept. 28, the 73rd Annual Floral Parade, spreads aloha from Ala Moana Park, down Kalakaua Avenue to Kapiolani Park. Beautiful floats will be decorated with a rainbow of fresh flowers, while men and women on horseback will showcase the traditional art of pa‘u riding, along with traditional marching bands — in an impressive parade showcasing the vibrancy of  the Hawaiian spirit.
